Frequently Asked Questions

    Q. What do I have to do to join a league?
    A.  You need to be a member of the Broadmoor Curling Club and information is available on our website under Membership Applications and Renewals.  Once you have paid your membership you can register for the league.

    Q.  What equipment do I need to purchase to curl in a league?
    A.  Nothing, the club provides all the equipment.  We have 32 curling stones, plenty of club brooms and sliders for members to use.

    Q.  I want to join the league but I will be away on one of the the league nights, what should I do?
    A.  Join the league and let your skip/team captain know which night you won't be able to attend.  Your skip/team captain will obtain a spare for you from our spare list.

    Q.  I am new to curling and have only attended one Learn to Curl Clinic, am I good enough for a league?
    A.  Absolutely.  We were all new curlers at one time.  We place new curlers on teams with experienced curlers so you can continue to learn with every game and it evens out our teams.

    Q.  I am busy on about half of the league nights but I still want to curl?  What should I do?
    A.  Go on our spare list.  Email the league coordinator with the nights that you are available and good phone contact.  When teams are going to be short a player the skip/team captain will contact you to see if you are available.  If you are able to spare, you just pay $30.00 at the arena on the night you curl (cash or check only).

    Q.  My friends and/or family have been asking me about curling.  Can they come and watch a game?
    A.  Yes of course and we don't charge for spectators.  The arena has bleachers for the spectators to view our games and tell them to bring a blanket to sit on so they don't get too cold.

    Q.  I just saw your league on the website, but it has already started.  Is it too late to join?
    A.  Not at all.  We can pro-rate your league fees for the remaining games and can place you on a team.  If our league is full we can add you to our spare list.

    Q.  How many curlers can join your league?
    A.  We have 4 sheets of ice so we can accommodate 32 curlers.  Our leagues sell out quickly, be sure to register to guarantee your spot.

    Q.  Where do you curl?
    A.  We curl at the World Arena Ice Hall Olympic Training Site, located at 3205 Venetucci Blvd, Colorado Springs, CO 80906, just south of the Broadmoor World Arena.

    Q.  I still have questions, who do I contact?
    A.  Contact our Club President, Paula Bloom at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.
